RUNX1 Is Essential for Mesenchymal Stem Cell Proliferation and Myofibroblast Differentiation
Investigators report the characterization of normal human prostate-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and the TGF-β1-regulated pathways that modulate MSC proliferation and myofibroblast differentiation. Mesenchymal TGF-β Signaling Orchestrates Dental Epithelial Stem Cell Homeostasis through Wnt Signaling
T growth factor-β (TGF-β) type II receptor (Tgfbr2) was specifically deleted within the postnatal dental papilla mesenchyme. Investigators found that mesenchymal Tgfbr2 disruption led to upregulated expression of Wnt5a and downregulated expression of MFgf3/10 in the mesenchyme, both of which synergistically enhanced Lrp5/6-β-catenin signaling in the cervical loop epithelium. Therapeutic Effects of Amniotic Fluid-Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells on Lung Injury in Rats with Emphysema
Researchers analyzed the phenotypic characteristics, differentiation potential, and karyotype of rat amniotic fluid-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (rAFDMSCs), which were isolated from pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats. The Effects of Poly(Dimethylsiloxane) Surface Silanization on the Mesenchymal Stem Cell Fate
Researchers employed (3-aminopropyl) triethoxy silane (APTES) and cross-linker glutaraldehyde (GA) chemistry to immobilize collagen type 1 on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). Significant changes of the native PDMS surface properties were observed with the proposed surface functionalization, and mesenchymal stem cell adhesion was improved on PDMS surfaces modified with APTES + GA + Protein.
